Hotel Carlota is a good option for those looking for a nice accommodation without splurging on a luxury stay. I had to book this a week beforehand, as my previous accommodation canceled on me last minute. Everyone at the hotel was welcoming, and the space is nicely designed. My least favorite parts about the hotel would be the bathrooms and the water fixtures. If you have any mobility issues in your hands or wrists, I would not recommend this for you. The faucets levers are not easy to twist. The bathrooms have a window vent to the outside hallway, and I was nervous that the bathroom was visible to the hallway until I realized that the vents were facing down so it’s not possible to see in (unless you are crawling on the ground). The shower had the same faucets, and the paint was chipping around them. Lastly, the ceiling above the sink, outside of the bathroom, is short. I’m 5’2” and I couldn’t raise my arms up to put deodorant on while under it. Overall, it’s a solid 4-star hotel with a nice pool and it’s a good value for your money. I would likely stay here again.
If you are in your 20’s this is a fun hotel with loud music and a pool and a fun bar. We couldn’t sleep between the volume and the fact that the AC was broken and the room had no cross ventilation. It was so hot and so loud. It was so cute and had so much potential but if you want to sleep it is not a good choice.
If I could leave zero stars, I would. The only thing saving this hotel is the location and the restaurant which is surprisingly good.
The rooms are loud, most have no outside windows (they face the courtyard where the music goes late in the evening), and the staff is nothing short of rude at best. We were there for 5 days and the room was never cleaned - not once. Garbage overflowing everywhere. And on our first full day there, they drained the pool with no notice or apology, and no attempt to at least try and make this right for us. Basically they just shrugged their shoulders.
Just awful. Never again.
Had a terrible experience. Was given the room right next to the lobby. Not only was it incredibly noisy, the toilet was spraying from the bowl when flushed resulting in a wet bathroom floor. Went to take a shower at 10pm after a long day and there was no hot water! Sink faucets were very difficult to turn on and off. Staff wasn’t sympathetic or apologetic in the least when approached. Needles to say, we changed hotels the next morning.
Never coming back to this hotel, room super noisy, no hot water, we asked them to fix it 3 times and never got fixed, they didn’t give us a different room, we couldn’t shower at all.
Very small bed, specially when you’re a tall person.
They didn’t leave towels in the room, and didn’t do anything to make us feel better about all these issues .
